2009 MAAM WW II Weekend Instructions to Groups
It is the group leader's responsibility to pass these instructions, and a copy of the map, along to all registered group members attending the show and working ahead of time on MAAM grounds.
All participants should be on the lookout for fellow participants who may not have gotten the rules and act contrary to the regulations. (For Example: stopping someone walking toward a taxiway or runway.)
Accountability and Attitude
Group leaders are responsible for group member conduct.
Groups found to be not contributing in the spirit of the show may be removed or have participant numbers reduced.
Taxiway and Runway Incursions Prevention
The FAA, Reading Regional Airport, and the Mid Atlantic Air Museum regard taxiway and runway incursion prevention as the number one concern for the safe and continued operation of the show. The fine for taxiway and runway incursions is $10,000 paid by the offending person or persons. It is essential that you heed all warnings, refer to all maps, and above all ask if you are not sure. It is the Museum and the event which suffers the fallout and receives the black eye for this; it must be your #1 priority.
Participants are to familiarize themselves with the locations and terms on the map in regard to the show grounds and the Reading Regional Airport AOA.
Warning: Do not wander away from your designated area during work sessions. Remember that all airport paved areas, even inside the "MAAM space" are used for ground movement by aircraft, and sometimes at a high rate of speed. ALWAYS YIELD TO AIRCRAFT.
Everyone must sign IN AND OUT (There are no exceptions.) at the MAAM office and inform the MAAM office staff, by showing them on the map, where you intend to be working. Anyone on MAAM grounds is responsible to know the boundaries of movement. If you do not know, or are not sure; you must ask at the MAAM office or MAAM staff.
Do not "cross the street," if it looks like a street, it is a taxiway.
Do not under any circumstances ever cross multiple solid and dashed lines which are painted across (from one side to the other) a paved area. These markings are normally painted near the intersections of paved areas so be especially alert for them. Note that these lines extend the entire length of the grass on either side of the hard surface so you cannot simply "go around" them.
Do not under any circumstances ever proceed beyond the event fence line.
